Frequently Asked Questions
What areas do you cover?
We’re based in Crawley and provide gardening services across nearby areas including Horsham, Haywards Heath, East Grinstead and surrounding towns. If you’re unsure, feel free to ask and we will confirm.
Are you insured and registered?
Yes. GreenFar Gardening is fully registered and insured for all gardening and soft landscaping work. Proof of insurance is available upon request.
How do I request a quote?
You can call, WhatsApp or email us to request a free, no-obligation quote. We usually respond the same day.
Do I need to be home during the service?
No. As long as we have safe access to the garden, you do not need to be home. Please ensure gates are unlocked and pets are secured.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept bank transfer and debit/credit card payments. Cash payments can be arranged on request.
Do you remove garden waste?
Yes. Green waste is removed responsibly. Large volumes of waste, soil, rubble or non-organic materials may require an additional charge.
What happens in bad weather?
Heavy rain, frost or strong winds may affect safety or the quality of the work. If needed, we will reschedule at no extra cost.
How often should I schedule garden maintenance?
Most gardens look best with fortnightly or monthly visits. We can recommend a maintenance schedule based on your garden’s size, condition and growth rate.
Do you offer one-off clean-ups?
Yes. We provide one-time clean-ups for neglected gardens, end-of-tenancy properties, or seasonal refreshes.
Can you help design or refresh my garden?
Yes. We offer soft landscaping and planting services, including beds, borders, shrubs, turfing and seasonal planting.
Do you offer pressure washing for patios and driveways?
Yes. We provide professional pressure washing to clean patios, driveways, paths, decking and other outdoor surfaces.
How short will you cut the grass?
We adjust the mower height depending on the season and the condition of your lawn. Cutting too short can damage the grass, especially in hot or dry periods.
When is the best time to trim hedges?
Most hedges benefit from trimming in spring and summer. Some species require specific times; we will advise the best approach for your plants.
Can you prune trees?
We handle small tree pruning and shaping. Larger or high-risk tree work may require a qualified tree surgeon, and we can advise when this is needed.
Can you plant new shrubs or flowers?
Yes. We can plant seasonal flowers, shrubs, small trees and refresh existing borders with new soil or compost.
What plants grow best in this area?
Crawley and West Sussex have mild conditions ideal for shrubs like lavender, boxwood, hydrangeas, roses and evergreens. We can recommend plants that suit your garden’s sunlight and soil.
Do you offer lawn repairs or reseeding?
Yes. We can repair damaged patches, reseed areas and offer advice on watering and fertilising for healthier growth.
How do you handle weeds?
We remove weeds manually or with safe, controlled methods. We avoid harsh chemicals unless absolutely necessary.
Can you take before-and-after photos?
Yes. We often take photos to track progress. With your permission, we may also use them on our website or Nextdoor page.
Do you work weekends?
We work Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM and Saturdays from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
How far in advance should I book?
During busy months (spring and summer), it’s best to book early. For smaller jobs, we often have short-notice availability.
Can you advise me on how to take care of my garden between visits?
Yes. We are happy to provide guidance on watering, mowing, feeding plants and seasonal care.
How can I leave a review?
You can leave a review on our Google Maps page or on our Nextdoor page. Your feedback helps us grow and supports our local business.
